Northwest Academy has educated students in Charlevoix since 1996. We are a tuition-free public school offering exemplary education in kindergarten through 12th grade. Our school is committed to excellence, illustrated by our dedicated staff, our commitment to K-12 foreign language classes, and our Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced Band program that begins in 3rd grade.

New this year will be our elementary playground. Students will enjoy playing in our tire swing, GeoDome, dual side climber and more during lunch and recess.

Northwest Academy's curriculum is based on the standards adopted by the State of Michigan and is held accountable for these standards via MEAP testing and the No Child Left Behind Act.

We have a dynamic program in addition to our traditional academic courses, from K-12 foreign language instruction, an award-winning band program, to our fun, family atmosphere. We are currently adding volleyball, golf, and cross-country to our program. Northwest Academy families are invited to participate in our program through the Friends of NWA, and parents are welcome anytime!
